Hello and welcome to today’s Copywriting Tips blog. Following on from the useful Copywriting Tips we have been providing over the last few weeks, please find below your latest edition of Copywriting Tips:
· Average sentence length – you should be aiming for the maximum sentence length of 16 words.· Writing rhythm – in order to give your copy a distinct rhythm, vary between using short and long sentences.
· Split long sentences – if you have particularly long sentences in your copy, try splitting them using words such as ‘so’, ‘and’ or ‘because’.
· Avoid long paragraphs – these are for novelists. Try limiting your paragraph length to 3 sentences with a single thought.
· Sales copy – if you are writing copy for sales purposes, you have to be careful not to lose your readers patience. Avoid waffling and make every word and sentence count, giving something to the reader and adding to your argument.
